What is a Memory Blanket or Pillow?
Memory blankets and pillows are made from jeans and/or dockers which
can be bound with flannel or cotton shirts, neckties or purchased fabric that,
when you look at them, reminds you of all the special memories you had
with them. That someone can be a child, parent, grandparent or close friend.
The material that I mainly use for your memory blanket are old jeans or
shorts. I also can incorporate t-shirts or flannel shirts into the design. All
of these articles of clothing come together to make up your special
memory blanket.
The process that I follow in order to create that one of a kind memory blanket begins with me cutting up your special articles of clothing and jeans into different sized rectangles. I then take each cut piece and sew them together forming a blanket. Then, I bind the edges with whatever fabric you choose, to give the memory blanket that finished look. Once it is finished, I can personalize it with a name and date.
A memory blanket is more than just a blanket made of cut up jeans and shirts. A memory blanket or pillow brings all the past happy memories back and can be treasured for a lifetime.
